Meatballs, Carrots, and Mashed Potatoes

Lena made her favorite dish tonight. It originated with her late Oma in Germany years ago.

She cut up peeled potatoes for the mashers and

a big load of carrots in an angle (it ended up looking better that way and as her grandma used to say "the eye eats too").

Then she heated half a big onion in a bit of olive oil

and added it to 1 pound of happy-cow beefone egg, salt, pepper, parsley, and a couple handful of bread crumbs she had whized up in a food processor.

Then she mixed it all up,

formed a gazillion meat balls,

and fried them up.

In the meantime she had boiled the potatoes and heated a gallup of butter with a bit of oil.

In the butter she warmed the carrots with some salt till they were tender and then added three tbls of sugar and ground corriander seeds

When the potatoes were soft, we drained them, added lots of butter, heavy cream, and ground nutmeg. Then Lena smashed them all up.

Meatballs, carrots, and mashed potatoes. It got great reviews.
