German Pancakes

Oh yumm. These are the best. They asked for 45 minutes on a weekend morning. With plenty of time in between to read the funnies.

Lena mixed up 3 cups of flour, 3 eggs, 3 cups milk, 6 tbls sugar, a bit of salt, and some vanilla extract.

We made sure it was more on the runny side and added some extra milk.

The trick while frying them was, of course, a little butter, but we also rolled the pan around to make the dough spread. That way they were thinner than American pancakes, but still thicker than crepes. And, of course, we didn't rush them.

To eat them properly we loaded them up with Nutella,

sugar,

and marmalade.

This recipe is our version of the standard 3,3, and 3, Papa grew up with as a kid (3 cups of flour, 3 cups of milk, 3 eggs).
